Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE), located in Carcavelos, is an internationally renowned business school, recognised for its academic excellence and consistent presence in the Financial Times rankings. It offers undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, MBA and executive education programmes, attracting students from a wide range of nationalities. The modern campus features classrooms, lecture halls, a library, a gym, a clinic, student accommodation and direct access to the beach, providing a comprehensive academic experience.
The architectural project, designed by Vítor Carvalho Araújo and António Barreiros Ferreira, is organised around an outdoor avenue and an indoor gallery, crossed by five three-storey volumes that create visual connections between the woodland, the estuary, the orchards and the ocean. Located by the sea, the campus includes a tunnel linking to Carcavelos Beach and was designed to accommodate around 4,000 students. A400 took part in the process by ensuring the review and redesign of the structural and hydraulic systems projects for the winning consortium, HCI / Alves Ribeiro.
