With an excellent location on Rua das Flores (pedestrian access) in Porto, this hotel with 500 years of history presents itself as a fusion between the Classic and the Contemporary, sustained by the coexistence of two buildings: a 16th-century palace and a new wing, built from the ground up,
with a total of 66 rooms and suites. The Project considered a sustainable approach from the outset, prioritizing three key areas: minimizing environmental impact through rehabilitation and fostering a positive socioeconomic impact through urban revitalization and sociocultural revitalization in the surrounding urban area.
The structural intervention rigorously followed several fundamental principles, such as respect for the memory of the Palace and the heritage elements to be preserved, the guidelines of the DRCN, using lightweight and minimally intrusive solutions compatible with the existing structure.
